Japandi style is a mixture of Scandinavian and Japanese design.

“It is the East-meets-West design movement. It blends Japanese artistic elements and wabi-sabi philosophy with Scandinavian comfort and warmth or hygge,” Wijaya explains. “Both Japanese and Scandinavian design aesthetics are focused on simplicity, natural elements, comfort, and sustainability.”

It was awesome to visit the very wonderful Julie, and our first venture into a Japandi style kitchen. Bespoke and handmade in our workshop using 18mm Birch Ply featuring, extra inset Oak Veneered Birch Ply fronts, topped with HiMacs Alpine White counters and loaded with pull-outs, larder unit, integrated appliances, a Mega island with overhead steelwork shelving. An absolute classic with a new twist for us. Julie has an amazingly keen eye for design and style, it has been fantastic working with her to create this dream kitchen. So great to spend some time over a coffee listening to Julie's joy and the great times she has shared with friends and family over the past 6 months. I think she may well love the kitchen more than we do, which is nothing short of mountainous love.
