Our values and vision
Calder Valley Projects is a close-knit team that specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality custom-made plywood and real-timber kitchens, cabinetry, and furniture solutions at the best possible prices.
In 2010 our founder and designer, Kev Moore, set up the workshop in Salford, Manchester (with just three tools) after being asked to design and custom-build a kitchen for some friends. This was closely followed by other requests, and Kev fell in love with the idea of using mathematics, science, design and plywood to create aesthetic, functional cabinetry that stands the test of time and is distinct from the mass-produced norm. In 2013, Kev and his family moved to Todmorden, in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire; and a new larger workshop was required to satisfy the increasing number of projects. We have been in this workshop ever since and are now looking to add another floor, with increased tools and machinery, to cope with our growing demand.
Since launch, Calder Valley Projects has created captivating solutions for clients across Northwest England and beyond. We are proud to have worked on both domestic and commercial projects, with individual homeowners, architects, and interior designers. Domestically, our projects have ranged from small plywood kitchens to entire house evolutions and eco-cabins. Commercially, we have completed full design and fit outs for large premium hospitality businesses.
When designing, we initially gain a detailed understanding of every client’s vision, functional needs, and lifestyle. We then take great care to maximise every inch of space; ensure our design complements the wider architecture and aesthetics of the building and surrounding environment; and that all elements naturally complement each other.
Over time we have developed into a dedicated team, grown from within our community, that is proud of the exceptionally high standards and finishes that we produce. Every project is custom-designed and then brought to life by our fantastic team of joiners and cabinet makers using the finest quality materials. Our experienced installation team will then ensure the project is finished to the design with absolute precision. Through every step of the process, our projects surpass expectations and are built to withstand the wear and tear of daily life for years to come.

Founder & Creative Director
KEV MOORE
Kev has a life-long passion for design and woodworking, particularly focused on using mathematics and logic to create both aesthetic, beautiful and functional products that stand the test of time. As a younger man, Kev completed BSc (Hons) degree in Product Design at Salford University. Following this, he spent a number of years sharing his passion with students at Wellacre Technology College and Taunton School as a Design and Technology teacher. Another of Kev’s big passions is music, this led him to leave teaching and begin building high-end audio systems. Back in 2010, Kev set up a workshop in Todmorden (with just three tools) and the rest is our rich history, progressing through high-end audio, camper van conversions into Calder Valley Projects as it stands today.
Operations Director & Project Manager
ANDY HOLLIER
Andy has 28 years of operational and project management experience in customer-facing industries. He champions the development of every angle of the company. Ever focussed on the company values; product and production sustainability; team happiness and well-being; and the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Whilst on family days out, Andy and Kev met in a playground in Todmorden, and a great relationship was forged. Andy brings a passion for people, sustainability, and a business development mind to complement Kev’s creativity and design. Away from work, Andy is focused on a healthy body and mind, and being a great dad and husband.
Cabinet Maker / Workshop Manager
FRASER HINCHLIFFE
Fraser heads up our fantastic workshop team, keeping them happy and focused on top-quality output in every project. Previously a qualified electrician Fraser wanted a change, to explore a newfound passion for woodwork. Fate intervened and Fraser met Kev DJing at the same event, they hit it off and Fraser joined the team. Since starting it was clear that Fraser’s precision and attention to detail with cabinet making and as a laminator specialist were second to none and great things started happening.
Workshop Production Team
NEIL BRIGGS
Neil joined the team 2 years ago following a 10-year career in set design and manufacture with a theatre company. He has extensive knowledge in design and manufacture and is an expert in the operation of all CNC work. He is a rock within the workshop and is developing into a fantastic cabinet maker.
Finisher / Fitter
NICKY MOORE
Apart from being an excellent finisher, holding a superb eye for quality control and a fantastic fitter, Nicky is always wearing a smile on his face. He brings a hugely cheerful energy to the team and our customers every day. Working with Calder Valley Projects for the past 7 years he ensures that every project has been finished, delivered, and fitted to the exacting standards of the design and that every customer leaves smiling.
